Introduction to Voltage

A difference in electric potential at the ends of a wire provides the 'electrical pressure' needed to move charges (current).
Such flow of charge (current) exists as long as the electric potential difference persists.
For example, a common car battery provides an electric potential difference of 9 V (volts).
So basically:

The electric potential is the voltage
The electric potential difference the voltage difference
The units are volts.

In summary, the term voltage is sometimes used to indicate the difference in electric potential.
