As per the figure, assume the roller coaster ride begins tarts at point A from rest.
Question: Rank these quantities from greatest to least at each point:
  1. PE
  2. KE
  3. Speed
Solution:
The maximum speed will occur at the lowest point of the roller coaster where the PE is converted into KE.
The points (A, B, C, D, E) are at different heights,
therefore the speed of the open car changes based on the energy conversation law.
As the height of the open car increases, the KE decreases and PE increases.
In this example, the order of speed from greatest to lowest is as follows:
